CREATIVE CONNECT KICKS OFF IN ABUJA

Yesterday was definitely one for the books for the creative and dance community in Abuja as the first ever Creative Connect Kicked off!

Creative connect was conceived from the need to create a safe and inspiring environment where dancers and artists can explore through analysis, discuss & improv and hence be inspired  to create and collaborate .

This Unique creative class  structured experience would be happening every month hosted by The krump Dance Studios  and it is a platform for Dancers, Poets , Musician, instrumentalists, writers, photographers,Artistic Directors,Curators, actors, Visual Artists  and other creatives; It is a total creative experience segmented into three parts :

-  Visual presentation or Talk on a Highlighted subject  ( 20 Mins )
-  Open floor  Discussion & Analysis on subject ( 40 Mins)
-  Improvisation sessions ( Attendees get to explore & observe instantaneous collaboration between dance and another form of art). Interested artists who want to challenge themselves an explore the power of collaboration and improv can sign up at entry and be paired with  an artist to improvise  and in some cases everyone is involved in the improvisation.

The first Edition featured a short preview and discuss on the work  "Sutra" of  Dancer and choreographer ''Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui" .

We also had the privilege of having with us Igo Diarra (Founder - Galerie Medina) all the way from Mali  who came to Connect during his visit To Retro Africa/Atelier Launch, Also present was  , Nduwhite Ndubuisi ( Artist & Curator International Institute for Creative Development), Blaize  Itodo ( Artist, Documentary Photographer ) , Tersoo Gundu ( Curator , Photographer , Photo Carrefour ) , Isreal Isaac ( Performer , Director) , Williams Gbadamashi ( Dance Administrator & Scholar ) Justine Unanka (Performer) , David Hero (Dance Artist)   , Bukunmi Olukitibi (Dancer, Actress), Esther Ekele (Dancer,Choreographer) , Suleiman Ali (Artist,Dancer) , Praise Ayodele( Performer ) and more than 40 other dance artists.
